Grading System
A student's grade consists of two major categories, formative assessments (60% of final grade) and summative assessments (40% of final grade).
Formative assessments are employed throughout the learning process. These include:
- Weekly memorization assessments
- Weekly handwriting assignments
- Weekly linguistics assignments
- Daily silent reading logs
- Daily classroom performance (participation, citizenship, etc.)
- Tajwīd assignments
Summative assessments are a summary of a student's development at a particular point in time. These include:
- Tafsīr tests
- Linguistics tests
- Tajwīd tests
- Quizzes
Please note that a student's culminating projects and portfolios are included as summative assessments.
